Louise was born and raised in South Africa, where her deep love for indigenous cultures and wild nature was nurtured. Growing up in a deeply divided and volatile society initiated her deeper search for righteousness, sovereignty, and healing.
After leaving school, Louise was granted a Rotary Exchange Scholarship to Brazil, the first time travelling to another country, and she was immediately hooked on exploring new cultures. She returned to her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, however the yearning to travel caused a drop out after 2 years, much to her parents' horror, and she took off travelling for the next 3 years, with many adventures to be told!
After the passing of her Dad, Louise returned to South Africa and life began to unravel with no direction, addiction challenges and depression. Unresolved traumas began to resurface with the pain of bereavement. Every door seemed to be closing...
On her travels, Louise fell in love with deep sea diving and the Ocean. She was lucky enough to be accepted to the James Cook University in Australia to study Marine Biology. However, she failed the physical examination to gain entry for Diving, due to an asthmatic condition she never knew she had. She was devastated once again. It was another one of Life's curveballs towards one's true path.
Around this time, she discovered Hawaiian Healing Arts in Durban, South Africa! It was a lifeline and so began her healing journey...
"Lomi Lomi took me on a profound journey back to my body & heart, showing me how to release painful memories held in my body, connecting me with ancient wisdom."
She apprenticed with Anthea Hardwick for 4 years before being called to Hawai’i, where she completed her Teacher’s Training in Kauai with Susan Pa’inui Floyd. Her love of Lomi Lomi inspired her to undergo Mastership training with Jeana Naluai in Maui.
Louise has studied many forms of bodywork following her fascination with the body mind connection. This also led her to teaching Yoga & Aerial Yoga. In 2020, she also completed her teacher training with Stephanie O'Hanlon Kayalar in Kambal®Yoga.
After years of teaching in South Africa, she was called to Ireland in 2008 after meeting her Irish husband, Brian where she founded “Lomi Lomi Ireland - School of Hawaiian Healing Arts”.
“My greatest teachers are - Experience, Intuition & my children!”
